Agile Data Science – An Experience Report
This session will present learnings, patterns and anti-patterns that emerged during delivery of three large-scale data platforms for different customers over the last 18 months. It will cover strategy questions (e.g. understanding how “data science” maps to your market differentiators and core competencies), architectural considerations (e.g. the critical need to map back to the business problem being solved, keep it simple and avoid massive bloatware problems) and delivery concerns (e.g. how to work with an emerging delivery discipline that still codes in Jupyter notebooks). It will also describe how and why domain-driven design has been the foundation of every success we have delivered in this space so far.
